8. Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;9. And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto them that obey him; Hebrews 5:8-9 The author here answers any questions that many have: How can Jesus in heaven know what I am going through down here? Jesus was here in the body of a man for 33 years. Knowing what was about to happen to Him, He prayed in the garden in anguish, asking for the cup of death to be taken away, yet saying, "Not what I want, Father, but thy will be done." Jesus did not come as a high priest; He came as a sacrifice for sin. But at His resurrection, He took on the role of High Priest because He offered up Himself for all. In His death, He became the perfect and only sacrifice for sin, making salvation available to all who obey Him. Jesus's death has pacified the Father's wrath against sin for all time, for all who believe and obey. Amen.
