His actions gave foreign adversaries tools that could be turned against American citizens, businesses, and our allies. Thanks to the dedicated work of FBI Baltimore and our partners across the Department of Justice, Williams will face justice for putting greed before freedom and democracy.-A former active-duty Army soldier with access to TOP SECRET information, Joseph Schmidt, was sentenced to 48 months in prison and 3 years supervised release for retaining highly sensitive national security information and attempting to deliver it to Chinese intelligence services. The FBI and our partners will stop at nothing to safeguard our nation’s most sensitive information.-National Guardsman Canyon Amarys was arrested for allegedly attempting to provide mission-critical military telecommunications hardware to a person he believed worked for the Russian intelligence services. This arrest should serve as a stark warning to any U.S. service member thinking about betraying their sworn oath and undermining U.S. national security.
