1. Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?Psalm 2:1 The psalmist is mystified at the nations that rage against the Almighty and His Anointed Christ the Lord. Paul the apostle of Christ waged war against the church and then was converted writing more than half of the New Testament. The Emperor of Rome Diocletian an enemy of Christ sought to extinguish the name Christian from his empire. The fool has no knowledge of the real God. The Almighty is looking for a people who will turn from sin to be renewed in heart and mind and soul. Christ says in verse 7, that God had said to Him, Thou art My Son, this day I have begotten Thee, this word begotten translates to this day, I declare You are My Son, You are King over all You have created. God and His Son are not diminished if no one gets saved. They are eternal and nothing can be added or taken from Them. Paul says in Titus 2, Christ as Savior appeared to all men by grace. And gave Himself to redeem us from all our iniquities, to be a peculiar people unto Christ. Meaning Christ selected us for Himself. To the wicked the yoke of Christ is intolerable, to the redeemed it is light like a feather. Amen.
