Last night, - The U.S. Senate voted 50-46 to terminate President Trump's tariffs on Canada
Four Republicans, McConnell, Murkowski, Paul, and Collins—joined Democrats in this vote.
🔻 What this means and why it doesn’t matter…
The measure now needs to pass the House of Representatives to become law. As of now, the House is not in session and there’s no indication it will take up this vote imminently.
Even if it were in session, the House would need to approve the measure (highly unlikely), given its Republican majority and support for Trump's policies.
- Even if the House passes the measure, President Trump can veto it. Overriding a veto requires a two-thirds majority in both the Senate (67 votes) and the House (290 votes), which is very a high bar.
So, as of now, the tariffs on Canada remain in effect and 4 RINO treasonous pieces of shit were exposed, again.
