1. I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Timothy 4:1. Paul is close to leaving this world. His message to Timothy is to preach Christ, for Christ is coming, and He will judge all those living and all who have died when He returns. The warning is that even though Timothy preached a perfect message, people will not follow Christ but will fulfill their lusts, finding teachers who will teach lies and fables, turning mankind from the truth. Paul's instruction: "I am coming to my end, so no matter what you see or hear, keep preaching Christ." Paul's example to us all: "I have fought the good fight, I have come to the finish of the race, I have not lost my faith in Christ." Paul is now looking towards his reward promised by Christ the Lord. This reward is given to all who look with love to Christ at His return. Amen.
