Repost from KRL PhotoFunny story about how I stumbled on this composition accidentally. š¤ÆLast night I went out to try and lineup Mt Shasta with Comet A6 Lemmon and got skunked with clouds. So I decided to keep driving East to Reno and scratch the idea of capturing the comet. About 50 miles later I saw a viewpoint that had a cool name on my GPS map. I quickly flipped a u turn with my airstream and pulled in. Curious to see if my iPhone could pick up a photo of the comet, I gave it a try. 30 seconds later and bammm I see not only the comet but it was directly over Mt Shasta which was 50 miles away from my original spot to shoot it! š¤ÆI ran to my truck to grab my cameras and trackers and started letting emā all rip. 45 min later and we had a 360 degree view of mountain tops sticking out of a dense low fog layers. I canāt wait to share more images and Timelapseās from the night. For now, hereās the shot I wasnāt expecting to get! āļø As always, a poem I just wrote for this imageā¦āA metamorphosis of light.A torch made of ice.A paralleled stranger.A tail thatās been spliced.Meet Comet Lemmon. She represents power. She sits in the sky.Visible for an hour. She inspires my art.My shutter, my visions. She brings us together Despite lifeās divisions.ā-KRL-
