13. I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.Isaiah 46:13 The author speaks of Cyrus bringing salvation to Israel, held captive in Babylon 200 years before Cyrus, a pagan king, was born. Christ came to the Jews first; being rejected by them, the gospel was preached to Gentiles. Yet Christ has not cast off the Jews. Verse 13 says He brings His righteousness, His right standing with God, and His salvation to Zion, for Israel, His glory. Now this is a promised future blessing to Israel, but to us, it is a guarantee of our salvation in Christ. Only God can tell you the end of a matter before the beginning. Who are we to declare when God can save and whom? God shall do as He pleases, and His glory is Israel. I have no doubt that if Christ can save me, He can save whom He wants in Israel. Paul, in Romans 11:23-24, reveals God taking the natural olive branch which was cast off and grafting it back in, and verse 26, turning ungodliness from Jacob, v. 27, and taking away their sins. Christ's love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness, revealed for all. Amen.
