Moriah David's page:
- Contrary to the published withdrawal maps: The Southern Command deployed its forces far from the "Yellow Line" - the withdrawal line designated for the Israeli army according to the agreement.
- Although the "Yellow Line" is several kilometers away from the Israel-Gaza border, most of the army's current positions are only one to one and a half kilometers from the border.
- Meaning: There are many areas that are supposed to be under Israeli army control, but they are empty of forces, and the army has placed its forward positions far behind the withdrawal line.
- Some examples that can be published with censorship approval:
-1. In the published maps, the Yellow Line in the northern enclosed area (Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia) is about 3-3.5 km from the fence. In reality, the southernmost site there is "Israela", which is located opposite Route 10, just one kilometer from the fence.
- 2. In the Nuseirat crossing area - according to the Yellow Line, Israel is supposed to control Salah al-Din axis - about 3 km from the fence according to the maps. In reality, until this morning there were two sites - "Libya" and "Herzliya". Both were dismantled as part of the troop withdrawal, and now the farthest Israeli army force in this sector is located on the Seven Hills ridge - i.e., just one and a half kilometers from the fence.
- 3. Opposite Gaza - Shujaiyah area, according to maps, the army is supposed to control up to 3.5 km from the fence. In reality, a site known as "Gaza Village Shield" is located just one kilometer from the fence and is the westernmost in its area.
- 4. The sites called "Zion" and "Negev" - located in central Gaza Strip - are only 1.6 km away from the fence and are the westernmost in their area, although Israeli army is supposed to control up to 3 km from it.
- It appears that Southern Command has abandoned placing forward positions on or near Yellow Line and pulled back army positions significantly.
- Fighters at these sites report being "exposed to fire" - meaning there are no forces in front of them - proving that Israeli army has actually withdrawn much further than Yellow Line.
- The Israeli army refused to respond to questions about firing orders regarding Palestinians who will enter areas behind Yellow Line - which are supposed to be under army control.
- The response of Army Spokesperson stated:
- The map presented in Army Spokesperson statement is illustrative. Army is ready on readiness lines according to agreement.
- Force deployment determination is based on situation assessment according to agreement and analysis of all variables.
- And naturally we won't elaborate on force deployment.
