Meet Orrick Quick. Quick is a former TV show host now running for political office, currently a candidate in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina. On social media, Quick has gained attention for his TikTok videos where he role-plays as an ICE agent — despite having no actual connection to federal law enforcement.
In his videos, Quick claims to be exposing “ICE kidnappings” and rallies his followers to “fight back” against the Trump administration. What’s concerning is that many viewers appear to believe he is a real federal agent. The comment sections are filled with people taking his statements literally, revealing a growing audience that may not recognize the satire — or doesn’t care.
This kind of messaging risks fueling misinformation and stoking fear. It can also attract individuals who may act on these beliefs, setting a troubling precedent — especially against those who oppose the Democratic Party, support Republican policies, or are part of law enforcement.
He uploads his videos across nearly every major social media platform, but fails to disclose in the videos themselves that he is not a federal employee. That clarification only becomes apparent — if at all — when viewers dig through his other content. @ICEgov
