BIG GOVERNMENT SAYS IT’S HUNGRY Cartoon published 10/05/2025 I’m a fan of the original series of Star Trek and one common theme in the episodes consisted of Captain Kirk rescuing people from the tyranny of overreaching government. In “The Return Of The Archons” Kirk and Spock destroyed a computer named “Landru” that had completely subjugated society. In “The Apple,” the natives seemed happy, but their sole job was the constant feeding of a figurehead named “Vaal,” and in return he does everything for them while providing them strict structure and a list of ‘dos and don’ts. As a result they did not advance or learn. Instead they stagnated. Kirk took care of it by destroying Vaal, thus providing freedom to the primitive society. President Trump has a chance to greatly pare down useless government mostly created by Democrats to benefit their party. Useless bureaucracies need to be eliminated. Government employees drawing excellent salaries for doing next to nothing need to be fired. We need a lean government as our Founding Fathers intended. Less government equals more freedom. The more taxes and control the better. And now, the further left the better. We don’t need more government red tape, taxes, and their hectoring list of dos and don’ts. The Democrats may think that’s paradise, but Adam and Eve tasted the apple a long time ago. We want be free even if it means struggling.
