This is the first photo of Earth from space.
It was captured on October 24, 1946, when the United States launched a modified German V-2 rocket from the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. A 35mm motion picture camera mounted inside the rocket snapped an image every one and a half seconds as the craft ascended more than 65 miles above the Earth’s surface. When the film was recovered, it revealed a grainy view of our planet—the first time humanity had ever seen Earth from space.

That picture shows the edge of the flat disk earth. It's right there before your eyes. You can see where it drops off.
