I know her better than the liberal media, her Democrat opponent, and the DC establishment making the attack ads about her. Winsome and I met serving in the Marines, and after she served for four years as an electrician, she left the military and we got married. Sometimes, people ask her why she served her country even though she was an immigrant. Her answer shows exactly who she is at her core: Because her dad was able to create a life in America after coming here with only $1.75 in his pocket, and she wanted to give back to the nation that gave her so much.Winsome has spent her life giving back to her communities. She has a deep faith and trust in our Lord and follows His teachings to treat all her neighbors with kindness because she knows they were created in the image of God.She has led a men’s prison Bible study and served as the director of a women’s homeless shelter, and that’s the work she’s most proud of in her life. Her greatest achievement—aside from building our beautiful family—has been serving as the first Black female to hold statewide office as Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor.
