12. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.Psalm 90:12. This psalm is a prayer of Moses, the man of God. This verse asks for wisdom to understand how short life is; even a hundred years, compared to the eternal God, would not make much of a mark on the timeliness. The speed at which death comes and the rewards or consequences that it brings are eternal. And if you knew you had 60 seconds left, what would you do differently? Each day is a gift to honor the Creator and to obey His commands. The wise and godly of mankind will prepare for eternity, for it always comes sooner than later. To live like today is your last, not out of fear, but reverence for the Almighty who knows the day and hour, is a secure life. Our Savior Jesus showed us the way; it has not changed in over 2,000 years. Christ is waiting to give you the reward He paid for in blood. Live for Him each day; nothing on this earth is worth eternal destruction. Amen.
