4. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)2 Corinthians 10:4. Paul explains that in a war you need weapons and acknowledges he was alive in flesh and bone. But these are useless in a spiritual war. Human strength, spears, swords, and firearms have no effect in the spiritual realm. You need spiritual weapons in the spiritual realm; these come from God. Ephesians 6 speaks of the armor of God; all are defensive, except the Sword of the Spirit, the word of God. Christ used this against Satan in the desert during His time of trial. The body does what the mind says. The word of God, when applied to temptation, will bring every thought into obedience to Christ, casting down vain imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. If you are going to be successful in spiritual battle, you must know Christ and His Word. Amen.
