17. Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the Son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. Psalm 80:17 The psalmist in this song speaks of the deliverance of God's people from Egypt. And the destruction of them, cast out of the lands God gave them, because of their disobedience. And who can restore what God has destroyed. The psalmist looks to heaven, and asks God to send the man of His right hand, the son of man whom God sent to redeem Jew and Gentile. Jesus Christ the Messiah, the Savior of the world, the only person who in His sacrifice redeemed mankind from sin and death, because His sacrifice is the only acceptable sacrifice. All the many ways people would try to access heaven will fail. Christ alone is the door. Christ is the only WAY. Amen.
