24. The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.Proverb 15:24. Solomon, the wisest of all earthly kings, by the will of the Almighty, writes that wisdom leads to heaven and happiness, hid in the promises of Christ. Wisdom is not acquired by chance; it is a matter of choice. As light is separated from darkness, so wisdom is separated from folly, as good is separated from evil. When Christ returns, He is coming with two eternities. There will be an eternal reward for His faithful followers and eternal punishment for those who rejected Him. Just as you cannot be both in the darkness and in the light, you cannot have a foot in heaven and one in hell. Christ showed the way to eternal life; the wise learned and follow in His steps. Looking upward always unto Christ, who redeemed us with His blood, who is the mark of the prize, keeping our eye on Christ and not on the temporal things of this world. The difference between temporal and eternal: temporal has to do with time, which we have an uncertain amount on earth. Eternal is unlimited, never-ending, without end. The wise will seek Christ. Amen.
