4. Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.Psalm 60:4.In days of war soldiers went out under a banner; it might have been a sign of their clan or a flag of their country. The psalmist is speaking in prophetic words, claiming the war in the spiritual realm is fought under the banner of the Cross of Christ. Christ is truth, and no lie is in His actions, deeds, or words. This banner of Christ is His proof of being the Savior. Having no sin, the Father punished His Son in our place, as if He were a transgressor. Under the banner of the Cross, we gather in allegiance to Christ our Lord and shall never suffer defeat from evil. We shall rise from death to eternal life. For God Almighty provided the sacrifice of His Son, that we might live, and we have the assurance that because God Almighty provided it, He will surely accept it. Amen.
