The father of a close childhood friend was a long haul trucker, and this is all true. Mr. Biele provided a good life for his family but he also missed so very much.
When we graduated from 8th grade, Mr. Biele took his daughter, Arlene, and me cross country (NY-CA) in his 18 wheeler (still can’t figure out why my parents agreed to let their youngest child and only daughter do this but it’s a testament to the faith they had in Mr. Biele). It was the trip of a lifetime and is only rivaled by the 30+ years Bill and I spent cruising in our boats.
So kudos to all the long haul truckers out there. I smile every single time I see one of your rigs.
