15. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:2 Corinthians 2:15. Paul, a Roman, compares our victory in Christ to a royal victory parade entering Rome. Burning incense to their pagan gods, the aroma to the Romans was sweet. To the captives of the Romans who were on parade, the smell to them was of death. Seeing they would be soon executed, some would be sold into slavery. The Gospel message to the redeemed is a sweet spiritual message leading to eternal life in Christ. To those who reject Christ, the message is foolishness leading to eternal destruction. The wise prepare for eternity. The foolish press on to destruction. Amen.
