32. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Psalm 32:1
The psalmist's instruction on forgiveness.
The blessings of forgiven sin. Blessed is plural, the blessednesses, the double joy, the bundles of happiness, the mountains of delight. To all whose sin is forgiven, meaning the burden of sin's debt of death has been removed.
Because the sins have been covered in Christ's blood, His life for ours. In Christ is this blessing found and in no other.
Christ removed any account of bookkeeping or recording of sins. The redeemed of Christ rejoice in His justification, just as if they never sinned.
In place of being condemned, we are assured of escaping spiritual death, and that the inner man will be fed with the word of God, even in the wilderness.
For the LORD'S mercy is upon us, as we hope and trust in Him. Amen.
