The crowd gasped, the dog stood up for the anthem. At a high school game, no one knew why a dog had been invited to the auditorium . Then the music started. He rose to his feet, chest out, eyes forward, and stayed perfectly still until the final note. Smiles turned into cheers. Afterward, kids crowded around. “He’s a retired military dog,” the owner said. “Years on base, he watched soldiers stand at attention.”
