Over 100 years ago, Pvt. Walter Beagle, a Black soldier, trained at Camp Jackson in South Carolina. At that time, the Army didn’t treat everyone fairly. Today, his great-grandson, Brig. Gen. Milford Beagle Jr., commands that very same base. He says it feels special to walk through the same gates his great-grandfather once did. General Beagle is proud to follow in his family’s footsteps and to serve his country. He joined the Army to show that with hard work and determination, anyone can lead and make a difference. 🇺🇸
