27. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.1 Corinthians 12:27. Paul is saying we are all members of Christ who follow Him in truth. This word particular in Greek means a section or allotment, a division or share. There is one God: Father, Son, and Spirit. The Spirit has given to each member gifts, diverse in application and administration; each receives what is necessary for God's plan.We do not all have exactly what another has. Paul explains that a body has different parts; it cannot function if it was all hands or all feet. So we, as members of Christ, have different gifts and duties to fulfill our calling. We are not to covet another's gift but to exercise our own to the glory of Christ the Lord. The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every person who follows Christ; it is His promise, and He cannot lie. Amen.
