16. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?1 Corinthians 10:16. The cup of blessing was the last cup presented in the Passover meal. This is the cup Jesus blessed at the last supper. The seal of the New Covenant is in this cup. Many take communion not understanding the connection with the Last Supper. The word communion means something is shared; there is fellowship, participation. We share in the Lord's death, receiving the benefits of His sacrifice. Romans 6:4, Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into his death. Romans 6:5, For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. In communion we show our allegiance to Christ, His death for our benefit and salvation. We accept and participate, remembering the cost paid on our behalf, and we have accepted the spiritual rebirth in Christ the Lord. So now we are baptized into His death and at the time prepared, we shall rise from death, unto the reward prepared for us before the world was created. Thank ❤️ you Jesus. Amen.
