12. What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits towards me?13. I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.Psalm 116:12-13. Jesus sang this Psalm on the night He was betrayed.This Psalm is all about being grateful to God for all He has done.Who can count the blessings, the provisions, the rescue from harm or death? The ungodly know of God only as in a fairytale. The redeemed know God by confirming experiences in life. The psalmist considers what he could give back to the Lord for all he had received; all the benefits from the smallest to the times his life was saved from death. He found that the only way he could thank God was to take one more thing from Him: the eternal salvation of his soul. This cup of salvation we take in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice is in itself a pledge of loyalty to Jehovah God. Amen.
