A new study of 67 people who developed myocarditis after a COVID-19 vaccine found that 1 in 3 still showed signs of heart damage on advanced cardiac MRI scans more than a year later.
Standard tests like ultrasounds often missed these issues, leading many to believe their condition had improved when it had not.
This highlights the importance of cardiac MRI for detecting long-term heart inflammation in vaccine-related myocarditis, even when symptoms seem to improve.
