If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.Romans 11:14Paul is saying that he would like to stimulate or incite some of the Jews to follow Christ. He had heard the Gentiles say that God had forgotten the Jews because they refused Christ. Paul states that salvation was to the Jew first; they are the true vine. The Gentiles are the wild olive branch grafted into the true vine; they are not the root. And because of unbelief, they were cut off the vine. But Christ is able to graft them back into the true branch if they believe Christ Jesus is Lord and Savior. Revelation 7:4 speaks of 12,000 from each tribe of Israel having been sealed or protected from the antichrist. Their mission is to evangelize the world left after the rapture. From them, a great multitude will come to faith in Christ. This is why we pray for Israel. Amen.
