7. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare die.
Romans 5:7.
Paul explains Christ's death for us in a way we can understand. Verse 8: God loves us in that while we were sinners and an enemy of God, He sent His Son to die for us.
Verse 9: We are justified by Christ's blood, and it cannot be earned, only received. By Christ's blood we escape the wrath of God's judgment against our sin.
And since we have been saved, being enemies of God by Christ's death, how much more shall we receive eternal life by His resurrection from death?
The grace of Christ reassures us; we do not have to prove that we are worthy of God's love. God is my friend. We have access to God permanently. We are free from the debt of sin. We can spend more time praising God and less time hating ourselves.
The great secret is to believe and consent to being loved, knowing that you are unworthy. Amen.
