20. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3:20
Romans 3 reveals the justification of God freely in Christ Jesus. There are none righteous; all have gone their own way, having no reverence for God. For all have sinned and fallen short of pleasing God.
If you kept every commandment of God, the law still finds you guilty because sin is in you; you were born with it. The law has no power to forgive.
Paul is teaching that we are justified (just as if we never sinned) by Christ, who redeemed us with His blood, paying the debt for all sin. We will never be perfect in this body of flesh. Trusting Jesus as Savior and Redeemer, we live in faith that Christ did everything we needed to get into His kingdom. He had no sin; He kept 100% of the law. Christ is righteous. He is the perfect sacrifice for sin. And when we live in His ways, we are covered in His righteousness, and the law is established in us. Amen. Thank you, Jesus.
