Since I'm not allowed to post the truth on someone's timeline I will just post it here on my own. Genetically modified corn produces its own pesticide which is then fed to the american public. When you eat this bt corn, you eat pesticide. It is inside the food.
"Bt corn, a genetically modified corn variety, creates its own pesticide. This is achieved by incorporating a gene from the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) into the corn plant. The gene produces a protein that is toxic to certain insects, effectively acting as a built-in insecticide.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis):
This is a naturally occurring soil bacterium that produces proteins toxic to specific insects.
Genetic Modification:
Scientists have isolated the gene responsible for producing these insecticidal proteins and inserted it into corn plants.
Pest Resistance:
The Bt protein produced by the modified corn plant is toxic to certain insect larvae that feed on the corn, such as the European corn borer and corn rootworm.
How it works:
When an insect larva ingests the Bt protein, it damages the lining of the insect's stomach, leading to its death.
