7. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.8. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.9. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.10. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:7-11 ?? Mary brought forth Jesus, by the Spirit of God, this is God's gift to mankind, to save us from our sins. Jesus, had other brothers and sisters, named in Matthew 13:55, James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas, His sisters, are not named, or numbered. Laid to rest in a manger, because there was no room at the inn, a picture of the hardness of men's hearts, refusing to let the Savior in. God brings His good new, not to Kings, or people in high places, but to the shepherds, guarding their flocks. The angel says, Fear not, those who seek Christ, have nothing to fear, in this world, or the next. And this news, was to all the world, sadly some will never receive Him, lost in the cares, of this short existence. But to the few, the Savior, Christ the Lord, the Redeemer, the everlasting King, the beginning of all things, and the end of all evil. Those who have submitted to Christ, will receive eternal life, their reward is sure, their treasure has been stored in heaven. Christ, is God's gift, that you cannot afford to die, without.
