3. Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. 4. O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against prayer of thy people?Psalm 80:3-4. This song of Asaph is a prophetic prayer. He calls God the Shepherd of Israel. Asking the Shepherd to turn them back not from their captivity, but from their moral values. When we are right with Christ, all things are right. Turning is repentance, meaning we make a change in direction, turning from destruction, and going in the way of Life. Christ has removed the wrath of the Almighty, for Christ has paid sin's debt with His own blood. Christ is the way back to God, when sin separated us. There is nothing we can add to His saving grace. And nothing under heaven can harm a soul covered in His Righteousness. Amen.
