Today we salute Col. Nicole Malachowski (Ret.), whose distinguished military record as a combat veteran and F-15E Strike Eagle pilot, with over 188 combat hours across multiple deployments, is a testament to her focus and dedication.
In Kosovo, she supported Operation Deliberate Forge with close air support missions. During a four-month tour in early 2005, she flew 26 combat sorties over Iraq in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, delivering precision strikes amid high-threat environments.
She later commanded an F-15E squadron and served as a White House Fellow, advising on national issues.
In 2005, Nicole became the first female pilot selected for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, flying as Thunderbird #3 in an F-16 Fighting Falcon and performing daring aerobatics.
As she reflected, "I’m an Air Force officer first, a pilot second and then Nicole. The female part is last. . . . My job is to be the best right wingman that I can be."
