The psalmist speaks from personal experience. In his time, even before he was a king, he saw wicked men like Goliath perish.
Spurgeon writes that death makes a clean sweep. Great men are not hidden from death. After death, property is sold, businesses go bankrupt, and their names are forgotten. Nothing in this world will last.
The salvation of Christ is eternal. The future of the wicked is mentioned six times, and it is no future to be desired.
God's judgment breaks the teeth of the devouring lion.
To the upright, God is strength in times of trouble. Because they trust Him, He will save them, and deliver them from the wicked. Amen.
