19. And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.Acts 14:19. Previously to Paul being stoned, he was preaching Christ, and a crippled man, Paul saw he had faith to be healed. He spoke to the man and he stood up and walked. The people of Lystra saw this and wanted to worship Paul and Barnabas as gods. But certain Jews followed Paul from Iconium and persuaded these same people to stone Paul. Thinking he was dead, they dragged him outside the city and left him. God has the last word. Paul stood up and left with Barnabas to Derbe. Jesus is the only one you can trust, for life forgiveness, pardon, and life eternal. The people who lift you up in this world will rapidly pick up stones, to do you harm. Jesus knows exactly who you are and what you have done. And He died for you so you could be with Him. Amen.
