26. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27. Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
Job 19:26-27.
Job, surrounded by desolation, has a brilliant flash of faith. I know my redeemer lives. A redeemer is a vindicator, a defender of the oppressed, a champion of the suffering.
Christ Jesus, God, was manifested in the flesh. At the Father's will, taking the punishment for sin in His own body for the sake of all mankind. This Christ did willingly. It was no accident.
Job has this faith, unmoving, even suffering under Satan's attacks.
Satan told God, that Job would curse Him, in his suffering. Yet Job has found a deeper understanding of Christ our Lord.
Even if he dies, Job is assured, redemption, pardon, grace, and mercy. Having assurance of a new body resurrected from death, he would see God in this new body. With his own eyes.
Our time here is short even if suffering makes it seem long. Eternal life is unending, no pain, no tears, just the joy in the Lord. A life lived for a thousand years would not even make a dot on an eternal timeline. Thank You Lord Jesus for Your mercy and grace. Amen.
