4. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
5. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6. They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7. They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
Psalm 115:4-7.
God Almighty is exalted above every idol. The psalmist lists what they look like, and what they lack. Having no power, or the ability to communicate, or travel. There is no power in them to do harm or to save.
Lost are those who give their worship and affection, to wood, stone, silver, or gold. The very elements they are made from were formed by God.
Christ, the God of creation and salvation, came from heaven in the form of a man. And spoke the words of eternal life in the Gospel message.
Wise are those who obey His words, who are covered in His Righteousness.
The reward of eternal life shall never be taken from them, seeing Christ has promised to all who hear and obey. Amen.
