18. And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.19. But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, 20. Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.Acts 5:18-20. The Sadducees, who do not believe in the resurrection of the dead, or angels. Have put Christ's followers in prison, because they continued to preach salvation in Christ, with signs and miracles, following their preaching. Now, an angel they do not believe exists, opened the doors to the prison. Setting them free. For this purpose, they continue to preach the Gospel message. In that message, Christ has defeated sin, Satan, and death, and in its place, by grace has given eternal life. We are no more bound in the sins of this life, no more to suffer the punishment, Christ having paid our debt to sin on the Cross. Amen.
