1. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.2. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. Psalm 62:1-2. The psalmist revealed in these two verses our obligation to God Almighty. If we are looking for something from God, we must wait on His timing for it is perfect. Waiting is silence from all the other voices in the mind. The will of man has a strong voice, which rarely follows God's will. Complaining is frequent in our thoughts. Each one of us is familiar with what we hear. None of these voices pleases God. Except the one that says, thy will Oh God, that I will do. We must empty self, and wait with patience on God, who is never late, but always on time. This attitude brings the confidence that Christ is our foundation, solid as a rock. There is no salvation for mankind but Christ the Lord, for He is the author of salvation. Christ has purchased it with His very own blood, which has wiped out the remembrance of sin, its punishment, and restored the broken relationship between God and man. Believers whose trust is in Christ, cannot be moved off the Rock, the Lord, the Son of the Almighty. This foundation is eternal. Though we may stumble, we shall not be cast down into the pit of destruction. Christ has taken what we deserve, onto His body, even death. Giving us grace, external life, the unmerited favor of God. Amen.
