36. Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.John 18:36. Jesus answers Pilate when questioned if He is the King of the Jews. Jesus tells Pilate His kingdom is not of this world. It is not a political kingdom. Pilate sees nothing to fear from the kingdom of Jesus. Pilate knew how Rome gained power, by force, and dominance. Christ's heavenly kingdom was won with love, sacrifice, humility, and righteousness, exemplified by Jesus and the Cross. Christ's kingdom came from another realm, with power unmatched by any earthly rulers. All the kingdoms of this world will fail. Christ's kingdom is eternal. That kingdom is available to all who follow Christ. Amen.
