16. A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.John 16:16. The disciples hear these words and talk among themselves. What is He saying? They did not understand in a few hours Jesus would be arrested and taken from them. It was to their advantage and to ours that Jesus was arrested, beaten, mocked, nailed to a cross, and His lifeless body laid, in a cold, dark grave. The disciples would soon experience the loss of their relationship with Christ. Christ, when He rose from death, would turn their sorrow into joy when they see Him with their own eyes. Making their joy permanent. Christ says I came from the Father into the world and I now leave the world and return to the Father. Now the disciples understand that Christ came from God. Christ spoke these words to the disciples so they would believe. We have the same words, a promise made by Christ so we may believe also. All the promises of Christ are yes, and let it be so. Amen.
