9. The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
10. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
Psalm 9:9-10.
The psalmist is grateful to God because He did more than judge the wicked. He was also a refuge to those oppressed by the wicked. The refuge is translated as a high place, a stronghold out of reach of the enemy, in times of trouble meaning a cutting off of hope of deliverance. A time when distress turns to despair. When we feel forsaken by God for sin, and because our prayers are unanswered.
The psalmist understood that help from God does not come because He favors one and opposes others. God helps those who have a relationship with Him. They know His name they know who He is. They have faith in Him putting all their trust in His hands. They seek Him in good times and bad times.
You cannot trust God till you know Him. And how can you know God without spending time with Him?
Time is precious to all because it is running out. Who you spend time with is who you value. Amen.
