43. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes:and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. John 11:43-44. The shortest verse in the King James Bible, John 11:35 Jesus wept. Lazarus and his two sisters were friends and supporters of Jesus. Now, the unbelieving said that Christ did many miracles. Could He not save His friend? Now, Lazarus has been in the tomb for four days. Jesus cries, Lazarus come forth, immediately Lazarus walks out covered in his grave clothes. Some may say those who Christ raised from death were not really dead. Yet Lazarus has been in the tomb for days. After this, many begin to believe in Christ because He fought death at the tomb and prevailed, for He is God who gives life. Lazarus came forth out of the tomb in his grave clothes. Jesus, when He left the tomb, He left the grave clothes folded in the tomb He would never need them again. Every person in the Bible that was raised from death faced death again. But not Jesus the Son of the Living God. Amen.
