Dog tags hang from the ceiling of an exhibit titled "Above and Beyond" at the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum in Chicago, Illinois.
The 10-by-40-foot (3-by-12-meter) sculpture is composed of imprinted dog tags, one for each of the more than 58,000 service members who died during the Vietnam War.
The lone dog tag in the red circle symbolizes those who died but whose names are not inscribed on the Wall in Washington, D.C.
"Above and Beyond" is the first new permanent Vietnam War memorial since the Wall that lists all those killed in action.
The exhibition is now open on the third floor of Harold Washington Library Center, Chicago.
