9. I am the door: by me if any enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and find pasture.
10. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I come that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly.
John 10:9-10.
Jesus clearly says He is the door to heaven. All who follow Him will in their daily lives be satisfied as sheep in a pasture.
The thieves and robbers are those who are not following Christ. Teaching another way to heaven, another door. With lies and tall tales, they promote a way that ends in destruction.
Jesus brings life eternal, Satan brings grief and destruction.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd who laid His life down for His own. Jesus, who cannot lie, said those who follow Him will have abundant life, meaning an excess. Abundant life isn't a long life; it is not easy and comfortable; abundant life is satisfaction and contentment in Jesus.
Look around the flock. Jesus laid down His life for His sheep.
If you see shepherds lying, murdering, and bent on destruction, you are in the wrong pasture and you are following the wrong shepherd. Amen.
