DEMOCRATS ARE BOILING MAD OVER THE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL Cartoon published 05/23/2025 The Democrats are in hot water and President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” has them boiling mad. The bill has passed the House and is now in the hands of the Senate. Trump is stirring the pot and trolling the Democrats because they are steamed about Trump’s agenda. New York Rep. AOC is splashing in the broth and fumes, “This bill is a reckless disaster—‘ressisssst’!” Senator Adam Schiff, eyes bulging, shouts, “It’s an outrage, a threat to our democracy!” Elizabeth Warren, waving a tomahawk, scolds, “Trump’s bill is a corporate giveaway—we’re getting cooked!” Chuck Schumer, stewing near Pocahontas shouts, “This bill will end heath care for millions—turn down the heat!” And Dollar Store Obama, Hakeem Jeffries, nearly submerged, bubbles, “We’re in hot water—this bill must be stopped!” Why do the Democrats hate this bill? Why because it is Trump’s bill and now their TDS is off the charts! The bill makes permanent the 2017 Trump tax cuts, which Democrats claim primarily benefit the rich, with a Joint Committee on Taxation report noting two-thirds of Americans would pay less by 2027, but 5% would pay more, often lower-income households. It also introduces new tax breaks, like eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and car loan interest, though these exclude “highly compensated employees” and expire in 2029. Seniors get temporary relief on Social Security benefits taxes, and the estate tax exemption rises to $15 million, which critics like Elizabeth Warren call a “giveaway for billionaires to buy more yachts.” The Child Tax Credit temporarily increases to $2,500 through 2028, but Democrats argue this doesn’t offset the damage elsewhere. The bill also funds Trump’s border security agenda, allocating $12 billion to states for past border costs, adding 10,000 ICE personnel, 5,000 customs officers, and 3,000 Border Patrol agents, and building 701 miles of border wall. It cuts Medicaid access for 1.4 million undocumented immigrants, which Chuck Schumer called a “betrayal of American values.” Additionally, it bans federal funding for Planned Parenthood, limits student loan repayment options, and sells off public lands in Nevada and Utah to Big Oil, drawing environmentalist ire. Democrats also highlight provisions they see as favoring Trump’s allies: it eliminates a $200 tax on gun silencers, ends IRS Direct File, and blocks state AI regulations, including against rent-gouging software. A “nonprofit killer” clause is said to stifle dissent, per posts on X. The CBO projects the bill adds $2.3 trillion to the national debt, a point Schiff emphasized as reckless. While the bill promises economic growth—5.2% GDP increase over four years, per the Ways and Means Committee—and benefits like $13,000 more in take-home pay for families, Democrats argue it’s a “tax scam” that prioritizes the rich, guts social safety nets, and undermines healthcare, food security, and environmental progress. They’re gearing up to fight it in the Senate, where revisions are expected.
