16. Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is the not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them. John 9:16. Jesus has healed a blind man by making mud from His spit and dirt and put it on the man's eyes on the sabbath day. And the Pharisees are divided the majority saying He is a sinner for breaking the sabbath. Yet the priests break the sabbath by circumcision on the male child on the 8th day. Also when they cut up the daily sacrifice and kindle the fire under it. Christ said the sabbath was made for man. If the man was made for the sabbath it would be a burden and not a blessing. Christ who is the love and mercy of God in the form of flesh could not deny the need of the man on the sabbath. Love overcomes hate. The Pharisees hated Christ because He did not line up with what they believed or their traditions. While a limited few saw how could Christ do these works without the power of God. Hate blinds the goodness in us, but love is the Light that puts Christ's love in us into action. Amen.
