Saturdays thought: May 24, 2025…
In every generation, God raises voices up not just to echo his truth but to shake the very earth with it.
Maria Woodworth-Etter was one voice like that.
Clothed in power, this fire-branded woman ignited revival flames across America with boldness at a time when women were scarcely seen in pulpits as the supernatural was scoffed at.
God's pure, undiluted presence filled her life not only marking it by signs and wonders.
Woodworth-Etter’s meetings were often highly charged emotional events, with participants experiencing trances, visions of heaven and hell, and speaking in tongues.
Healing came and touched all of the sick, sight then came to the blind, walking was restored to all of the lame, and even miles away from her meetings, deep conviction fell upon sinners.
One remarkable event involved a young woman who had been nearly blind due to cataracts on both eyes.
She had been injured in a wreck, resulting in paralysis and a dislocated kneecap, among other ailments.
Despite her dire condition, she believed that if she could reach Maria Woodworth-Etter, she would be healed.
When she was brought into the meeting, more dead than alive, Maria laid hands on her and prayed. In a matter of minutes, the woman was straightened out, clapped her hands, stood on both feet, and began to praise the Lord, running and leaping for joy.
The cataracts fell off her eyes, restoring her sight. She stayed throughout the meeting, sharing her testimony and glorifying God for her miraculous healing.
Maria Woodworth-Etter’s story is not a history lesson it is a prophetic invitation. Her life proves Heaven responds with power that is unstoppable when a heart yields to God completely. A platform was not built, rather she carried a portal from earth to heaven by baring her heart out to the one who truly has the power.
That same Spirit is calling to us today—to become vessels of glory within our generation and reveal Christ in all of his power. Lord, let it begin in us! We raise a cry from our spirits: Do it again.
