67. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?68. Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.69. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.John 6:67-69. Jesus has just declared to His followers that He is the Bread of Life. Saying who ever eats this bread will have eternal life. Now the majority of Christ's followers leave. Today's verse and question is to us also. Do we believe and follow, or when it gets hard do we quit. Speaking for the twelve Peter reveals his faith. He recognized Jesus as Lord. He recognized Jesus as sent by God, to save mankind, despite the difficulties. He recognized the value of spiritual things over the material and earthly desires of those that walked away. He recognized Christ as the Messiah, and as God the Son of the Living God. It takes effort to follow Christ. It is a constant movement one foot ahead of the other, moving forward to the reward, nothing behind you is going with you when you time has expired here. Amen.
