Press Release No. Issued by the Gaza Government Media Office: ▪️The Israeli occupation continues its crimes, and Trump's statements are a waste of time and in line with policies of perpetuating starvation and genocide. ▪️We warn that the deliberate and systematic delays in the entry of humanitarian aid and the opening of crossings in the Gaza Strip are a direct result of the blatant collusion between the Israeli occupation and a number of states sponsoring genocide, most notably the United States. ▪️We hold US President Donald Trump directly responsible, alongside the occupation, for the continued starvation of our Palestinian people, the blockade of crossings, and the delays in the entry of food and relief supplies. ▪️We affirm that Trump's recent statements regarding Gaza have had no tangible impact on the ground. Rather, they were merely media statements that represent a waste of time and are completely in line with the occupation's policy, in their outcome and outcome, which is the perpetuation of starvation and genocide and the normalization of the slow death of civilians. ▪️For 77 consecutive days, the Israeli occupation has imposed a strict closure on the crossings, preventing the entry of food aid, supplies, and vital goods, in a systematic starvation policy that amounts to a full-fledged crime of genocide, according to international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute. ▪️This deliberate food blockade has led to the spread of famine throughout the Gaza Strip, and the number of victims of hunger and malnutrition has risen to 57 documented deaths, most of them children. This is in addition to the increasing death rates from diseases linked to food insecurity and shortages of basic supplies, and the disappearance of dozens of food items from markets and relief centers. ▪️This grave humanitarian reality no longer bears description or analysis. Rather, it calls for urgent and serious action from the international community, as well as humanitarian and human rights organizations, to halt this open crime and end the policy of collective punishment to which more than 2.4 million civilians in the Gaza Strip, including 1.1 million children, are subjected. ▪️We affirm that the Israeli occupation is using food as a direct weapon in its war against civilians, in an attempt to break the will of our Palestinian people through mass starvation and human humiliation, with the clear blessing of some international parties, most notably the US administration, which failed in its recent humanitarian mission. ▪️Coinciding with the convening of the Arab Summit in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, we issue an urgent appeal to Arab leaders to assume their historical and moral responsibilities and take practical and bold positions to break the unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, stop the genocide and daily killing, and pressure for the immediate and unconditional opening of the crossings, ensuring the flow of food, humanitarian, and medical aid to our people who are facing the threat of starvation. ▪️The world's silence does not absolve the nation of its role. Arab inaction at this critical juncture exacerbates the suffering of civilians and provides the occupation with additional cover to complete its crime of starving an entire people. ▪️We sound the alarm before the entire world, holding the Israeli occupation and its accomplices fully responsible for the deaths of dozens of innocent people due to hunger. ▪️We call for the immediate and unconditional opening of the crossings, and for the entry of urgent food and relief aid to save what remains of life in the Gaza Strip.
